Watercolour Flowers with Yvonne East / 1 Day Workshop

All levels of experience are welcome.

Discover the delight of painting your favourite blooms with watercolour. Basic and advanced techniques will be introduced with friendly step-by-step instruction. Students will explore a variety of methods and techniques including brush handling techniques, exciting colour combinations, and dragging and charging techniques to capture the natural beauty of flowers.

Materials List

Paper:

• Pad of A4 or A3 Watercolour paper (preferably 300 gsm). 
  Affordable packs of 10 sheets of A3 300 gsm Canson Montval watercolour paper will be available for purchase on the day.

Media and stationery:

• Watercolour paints - if you are new to watercolour a good low cost starting option are Micador For Artists Brilliant Watercolour Discs sets.
• HB graphite pencil or watercolour pencil.
• 1 size 8 round brush
• A selection of round pointed brushes – sizes 4 – 12 (Chinese calligraphy brushes can also be used if you have them!)
• A selection of flat brushes (some firm for dry brush techniques, some soft for applying washes)
• Watercolour palette (note: plastic palettes will need to be treated to avoid beading)
• Water container
• Masking tape
• Paper towel/rags
• Notebook
• Miscellaneous paper (test paper, protective sheets)

Optional:

• Masking fluid
• Plastic eraser and crepe eraser
• Crayons, clear wax candle
• Sticks / wooden skewers
• Ruler
• Sharpener
