Following on in the spirit of Tim Allen, Mathew Lynn takes over this broad ranging painting class that will enable each student to learn specific painting techniques, experiment with subject and concept, and fulfill their creative potential. Mathew’s teaching style is enthusiastic and inclusive, and he favours your personal vision and style, demonstrating techniques and creative approaches aimed at helping you to understand and actualise this.
Another fundamental part of his teaching method is helping you to become familiar with relevant contemporary and historical artists (across all cultures) through his large body of research, and how important this is for developing your eye and demystifying the art-making process. He also provides a direct connection to the contemporary art world through his own ongoing work and gallery experience. Mathew has a thorough grounding in all technical aspects of painting across all genres, which he now combines with his own dynamic and expressive contemporary practice. Demonstrations form an important part of his teaching.
