Absolute beginners only - suitable for those who have never done a ceramics class
This 5 hour practical class is designed for people wanting a hands on session on how to use the potters wheel.
We will cover all the very basics of wheel throwing - wedging, centring & shaping both a bowl and a cylinder form, posture, tools and clay will be discussed as will basic terminology and the stages from the soft, pliable material to a fired piece of ceramic.
This is a great session if you are thinking of signing up to a Term class to continue to learn how to throw.
Clay & tools supplied.
Please note: this class focuses purely on learning a new skill - students will not be firing works from the workshop.
Please make sure you wear enclosed shoes for this workshop and wear old clothes or bring an apron and a towel & lunch.
