Learn how to mix any colour with confidence. Using acrylics, students will practice building palettes of colour, use vibrant and more subtle combinations, consider proportion of colour, and use colour accents to bring their paintings to life. We will go in-depth into colour theory, learning how to use the seduction of colour to its maximum potential. If you would like to take your paintings to a whole new level, come to this workshop!
All acrylic paints provided. All levels welcome.
Materials List
- Paint brushes - assorted, including at least 1 wide flat brush approx.10cm wide (cheap from discount shops)
- 2-3 stretched canvases or canvas panels to bring to each class (each approx. 25cm x 35cm)
- Palettes (suggest 3 very large palettes or 8 large white disposable plastic picnic plates)
- Palette Knife (cheap from Officeworks)
- 2 photos cut from magazines or your own printed photographs (eg. landscapes, seascapes or gardens - chosen because you like the colours)
- Rags (old white sheets and cotton t-shirts are good)
- Pencil (e.g. 2B)
- White A4 typing paper (about 10 sheets per class)
- Scissors or 'Stanley Knife'
- Glue stick
- Water Container (e.g. large diameter glass jar or plastic container)
- Paint Shirt or Apron
- Roll of Paper Towel
- Large pieces of cardboard or cardboard boxes to transport wet artwork home in
