Suitable for beginners and experienced printmakers.
This workshop will focus on printmaking using aluminium plates to produce a stunning portfolio of up to 12 colourful print in just 2 days. The plates are etched in Copper Sulphate which is non toxic. Like traditional etching, this process involves intaglio techniques such as hard ground / soft ground.
Tonal passages similar to the Aquatint technique are created without rosin dust, making this a friendly approach to fine art printmaking. Emphasis on colour will involve using viscosity in the inks, on state of the art rollers and stencils. One passage through the etching press will yield up to 6 colours on the plate, resulting in exciting variations in textural effects to enhance your existing images.
