Casual and fun workshop!
Susie will guide you through the various mistakes that are made in watercolour and teach you how to correct them – without it showing in your work. Gain confidence with using this water based medium through exercises and demonstrations.
Use a limited palette of six colours and large watercolour brushes to produce beautiful images. Susie will explore portraiture, still life, landscapes and flowers in this one day, giving you all of the tools you need to make a beautiful watercolour painting.
Material list
The paint colours required for this workshop are Windsor and Newton paints in tubes (NOT PANS):
- French Ultramarine (NOT green hue)
- Cerulean Blue
- Quinacridone Magenta
- Transparent Gold Deep
- Raw Sienna
- Burnt Sienna
If the art shop staff tell you similar colours will do DO NOT BELIEVE THEM.
Brushes from Bunnings craft department in sizes 12, 14, 16 & 18. They’re under $5 each and are brilliant.
Paper in A3 size, Or no smaller than A4, in medium finish. Reeves brand A3 from Eclersley’s is about $30.
You will need a rag or an old tea towel.
Palette: White dinner size plates for colour mixing - melamine ones from a $2 shop are perfect. Otherwise I can lend them to you.
