This course has a structured program of exercises and demonstrations to provide a solid grounding in technical skills, help build confidence and expand creative energy. There will be time during the term to work on personal projects, as well as outdoor work excursions.

What to bring on the first day
- A pair of shoes. This will be the drawing subject for the morning (make it something interesting… not too many sneakers please)
- Your usual large sketch pad of cartridge paper
Drawing materials

Pencils 6B, 4B

Wolff’s carbon pencil 6B or 4B

Blade cutting knife

Black waterproof drawing Ink

White gouache

Bottle of masking fluid.

Crepe rubber for removing masking fluid

If available, Schminke make a masking fluid in a small bottle with a needle-like tip for fine line work. This would be an excellent extra
Brushes

Large wide house painting type brush

Your usual including a wide Hake Brush for wash, and an old wide bristle brush for glue

PVA glue.

Flat palette.

Bulldog clips

Watercolour paper; sheet of cold pressed 190- 220 grms

Tissue paper for collage.
