This course has a structured program of exercises and demonstrations to provide a solid grounding in technical skills, help build confidence and expand creative energy. There will be time during the term to work on personal projects, as well as outdoor work excursions.
Materials List Term 2
The term will start with drawing. I’ll set up a subject to work from which will later be the basis for a painting.
Bring for the drawing;
- A sheet of cartridge paper A3 size (from your cartridge work pad)
- 4B and 6B pencil
- rubber
- Bring for the painting;
- We’ll only have time to lay the ground work for a painting
- choose a surface to paint on eg
- full sheet of medium weight watercolour paper. Waterford 320 gram cold pressed is ideal and not too expensive
- Canvas; a canvas on a stretcher or a canvas panel no small than 60 x 60 cm
- you can bring a piece of un-stretched canvas of any size…the bigger the better.
Collage materials
- white tissue paper from art supply shops or office works
- PVA glue
- Blade cutter
Past students …bring all your usual art materials
New students I’ll give a list of other colours for the term. Bring what you have ie brushes acrylic paint, palette etc
Acrylics; include a new colour Blue Black Indigo. This is an Atelier colour.
