Leading Australian landscape painter Ross Laurie is back for a 3-day workshop focusing on the unique Australian landscape. Learn from his lifelong practice and mark making. The workshop involves technical discussions at the start of each day and then focussed work and individual attention on your work past and present with an emphasis on developing your own voice.
Discussions and reference material around artists old and new encourage further development of individual work. Bring your finished works and works in progress to focus discussion and development. As this workshop focusses on your work both oils and acrylic are welcome - you choose the materials however suggested materials are on the website.
Materials
Ross Laurie suggests:
- A range of brushes
- A palette
- Odourless solvent
- Gel medium
- Wax
- Refined linseed oil
- Tins for mixing in
- Plenty of support materials, canvases of different sizes and paper
- Clean up rags and painting clothes!
Drawing materials:
- Pencils
- Charcoal
- Pastels
- Paper
Paints:
A range of colours (all types of paint) with attention to earth colours:
- Burnt sienna
- Burnt and raw umber
- Terre verte
- yellow ochre
- Red ochre or venetian red
- Black titanium
- White and zinc white (mixing white)
A range of other colours including:
- Reds
- Yellows
- Blues
