Site Directions

The Willoughby Arts Centre is located on Laurel Street, between Penshurst and High Streets, Willoughby. Street parking is limited. We ask that you are at all times considerate of others, both students and our neighbours, when parking near the WAC. Some areas can accommodate two small cars, please try and park accordingly. The Loading Bay on Hollywood Crescent is a NO PARKING ZONE. It is a 5 Minute drop-off area only. Emergency vehicle access must be available at all times, both day and evening, at the loading bay.

Public Transport

The Willoughby Arts Centre is located on Laurel Street, between Penshurst and High Streets, Willoughby. 340 pre-pay, high-frequency service, connects Chatswood with Bondi Junction via Town Hall. Metrobuses depart every 10 minutes during morning and afternoon peak periods, every 15 minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night and on weekends. 343 buses run frequently from Chatswood to Kingsford via Martin Place & Museum Stations. Buses stop on the corner of Penshurst & Laurel Streets, 100 metres from the centre.

WORK HEALTH & SAFETY
Covered shoes must be worn in all studios. No open-toed footwear is allowed in studios. The Willoughby Arts Centre, in compliance with the NSW Work Health & Safety Act, is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees, teachers, students, hirers and visitors. To meet its obligations the WAC has an induction program to provide students with a knowledge of WH&S procedures at the WAC.

Student Amenities
The Willoughby Arts Centre provides professionally equipped studio space and some essential equipment for classes. There are three large painting and drawing studios, as well as ceramics, printmaking, jewellery and sculpture studios. Students are expected to provide their own art materials and consumables.

There is a cafe bar where coffee, tea and biscuits are available. In order to reduce our own costs and in an effort to be eco-friendly, we ask that you please bring your own cup. There are cafes nearby but you may prefer to bring your own food. We have a fridge and microwave for you to use and a sunny courtyard with seating. It is our policy that no food or drink is to be made in the studios or consumed near Work Health & Safety sensitive materials.

Membership
The Willoughby Arts Centre (WAC) is an independent not-for-profit art centre and workshop facility established by the late Joy Ewart with assistance from fellow artists and supporters in 1961 to promote and foster appreciation in the creative and visual arts. Membership is available to all and is separate from student enrolment into a class. Becoming a member of the Willoughby Arts Centre entitles you to many benefits.
