Jo Bertini

Jo has been a guest lecturer and teacher at public and Regional art galleries, colleges and tertiary institutions for many years and is an experienced art writer being widely published and reproduced. She has also worked as a Fine Art consultant for auction house “Joel Fine Art”.

Jo has had many years of solo exhibitions of her work in Australia, including several Regional Art Galleries, hundreds of group exhibitions and many private and public collections both nationally and internationally. Her work is currently represented by Tim Olsen Galleries in Sydney, and Melbourne Art Rooms (MARS Gallery) in Melbourne.

She is currently undertaking a four year project as ‘Expedition Artist’ with Australian Desert Expeditions working with the SA Museum, National Museum of Australia and National Portrait Gallery, a group of writers, scientists and historians on archeological, anthropological and indigenous research in the Simpson Desert.

Sandra Blackburne

Resume

'My paintings are inspired by the fragility and the beauty
of nature, but also its power.'

Sandra Blackburne was born in Brisbane. She trained as an illustrator and graphic
designer, graduating from the Queensland College of Art, before undertaking a career
in advertising and graphic communication. She studied painting at The National Art
School in Sydney.

In 2010 she graduated with a BA, with double majors in English Literature and Art
History from The University of Sydney. She also achieved First Class Honours in
Australian literature. She has painted continuously throughout her career. She is
interested in particular in the collision between modernity and the natural
environment.

Sandra’s work explores the textures and layers of the Australian landscape. "I have
always been drawn to the natural world both micro and macro images. In Australia
there is a raw energy coupled with the intense light. My work has a sense of this. I’m
interested in representing the effects of light and the beauty of the landscape which
survives in spite of the harshness of our country. Thus the paintings focus on the
power of nature to reassert itself."

1966 – 1970 Graduated in Design and Illustration, The Queensland College of Art.
1971-1982 – Designer/ art director for advertising agencies in Australia and the UK,
1983-2003 – Owned and managed a Corporate Communications and design studio,
SB Designs.
2005 -2008 – BA Major in English Literature and Art History, University of Sydney.
2010 – Honours thesis in Australian literature on 'The Language of Art in the
work of Patrick White', University of Sydney
2010- present Painting professionally. Studied painting at the National Art School.

Sandra has painted throughout her career, painting professionally since 2010,
supplemented with regular masterclasses with contemporary artists including Idris
Murphy, Luke Sciberras, Ross Lawrie, Tim Allen and Roger Crawford at the National
Art School in Sydney. She also runs her own workshops in drawing and plein air
painting in Sydney, and from her studio in The Hunter Valley.

She travels frequently, finding inspiration for her work throughout Australia, and
divides her time between Sydney and The Hunter Valley.

Richard Byrnes

Richard is a practising artist, having held 20 solo and over 100 group exhibitions in Australia and overseas. Having extensive teaching experience to draw upon, he is committed to teaching sound drawing and sculpture techniques in ways that are clear and accessible. Richards works are included in the National Gallery, University of NSW, Artbank, Macquarie University and various regional gallery collections. Richard’s public sculpture commissions can be seen in North Sydney, Marrickville and Macquarie University. He is represented by the Robin Gibson Gallery in Sydney.

Anthony Cahill

Resume

Anthony Cahill is an artist exhibiting extensively both in Australia and overseas, including exhibitions in public and regional art galleries.
Recently he exhibited a suite of works on paper at the Australian Embassy in Berlin.
Cahill divides time between working in his studios in Blackheath in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney and in the inner west Sydney suburb of Marrickville.
He is also a Lecturer in Drawing at the National Art School.
His practice is that of a painter and drawer; Cahill’s recent work has seen his figurative/landscape inspired images being coloured by a notion of the absurd.
Anthony Cahill holds a Master of Fine Art from the National Art School.

Barbara Campbell-Allen

Barbara specialises in the subtle world of long wood firing. She has an MA in ceramics from Monash University. Barbara’s work is widely exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions and is published in ceramics journals in Australia and America. "I am interested in my students gaining skills in the making, decorating and firing of ceramic work. These skills enable the exploration of ideas and experiences."

Assaf Carmeli

Resume

Assaf holds a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts specialising in Production Crafts from NIDA. He has worked in the entertainment industry for over 10 years in film, theatre, television and live entertainment for productions by Disney, Universal, ABC, Nickelodeon and more in Australia and abroad. He specialise in prop making and sculpting.

Assaf has been teaching both children and adults since 2008. He is also an exhibiting artist and has selected sculptural works in private collections.

Rachel Carroll

Resume

Rachel Carroll is a Sydney based artist who has been painting for over 20 years. Rachel explores themes in her art work that have an environmental significance, but rather focus on the loss of species or habitat Rachel has chosen to focus on the abundance. An abundance she wishes to see preserved. Rachel has a Masters in Fine Arts from COFA and exhibits every year in Sydney.

Rachel has been teaching adults and children for the last 5 years. For Rachel teaching is a way of helping others see what they may not have seen previously. It may be in the art making process but also in the world. Making art makes us all look again.

Kwirak Choung

Resume

Kwirak studied ceramics at National Art School, and later gained an MA (by research) from Monash University. He specialises in high temperature stoneware ceramics, especially anagama (a woodfire kiln) firing technique. His practice has evolved in conjunction with his knowledge on the concepts of Taoism and Buddhism.

Denis Clarke

Resume

Denis Clarke is an established artist who has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally. He is the recipient of major awards including The NSW Travelling Art Scholarship and The Cite International des Art Paris Studio. He undertook post graduate studies at The Saint Martins School of Art, London and during the eighties exhibited notably in 50 Years of British Drawing, Gillian Jason Gallery and The Boundary Gallery, London.

He has lectured in drawing at The National Art School Sydney 1999-2010 and NAS Dobell School 2011-2017. He is represented by Stanley Street Gallery, Sydney [solo show 2015]. Recent group shows include ‘In The Field’ Macquarie University. Public collections include: Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge and The Art Gallery NSW.
